So the system instead of buying her groceries, will pay tens of thousands to incarcerate her. That heartless judge should be investigated by the judicial conduct committee.

Only poor people can be convicted of crimes because we actually have to show up when subpoenaed by the court. I have zero respect for our judicial system, idk how anyone could take lawyers and judges seriously now.

I was thinking the same thing. I'm glad the governor intervened here. It was certainly warranted. Let's also acknowledge that overly harsh sentences like this happen to people in communities of color, in desperate situations all the time. Be sure to intervene then, too.

How does it work? If someone gets sentenced in the middle of a round of chemo, or dialysis, etc, aren’t they still entitled to uninterrupted treatment though?
