Netflix has blocked an episode of its show “Patriot Act With Hasan Minhaj” from streaming in Saudi Arabia after the Saudi government complained that the episode — which is critical of the crown prince, Mohammed bin Salman — violated its cybercrime lawshttps://nyti.ms/2CGDDKs

Because @netflix were at risk of losing a major market and a ton of money. That's how the world works Mango. Are you really surprised?

Saudi Arabia is not a major market, and they damage their reputation as a platform by capitulating to their demands.

exCUSE ME how about you think about the people IN SAUDI who still want to watch netflix? maybe they realize it's nicer to us to delete 1 episode (that is already famous and on youtube) and still let us have access to this service

I agree. S.A. people should have access. But i think the majority of folks outside S.A. do not agree with the human rights polices of your gov't, specifically MBS. Netflix pandering to that only reinforces it.

Thanks for clarifying...maybe embassies have rooms dedicated to mutilations rather than using conference rooms.

It is still available to view in all other markets. We can still watch it in the US. The title of the article is 10 words long, and said as much.

That makes no sense since original poster said ALL countries nothing about available countries. I'm not psychic can only base my comment on what's written not what's in someone's mind. By the way she tweeted me and said I was correct

^^ no-followers, dishonest shitposting shit-stirrer says what? P.S. the left opposes censorship when it’s forced by government; we recognize that private i.e. non-govt entities can censor at will and also that free speech doesn’t mean “free from consequences”.
