My first big league game was the Giants vs the Pirates. McCovey, Mays and Marichal. And, Clemente and Maz. A lot of good players on the field. RIP. #44

I was about 6 when I got to meet him and the Alou brothers, Phillippe and Jesus at my dad's grocery store. They were there for some promotional thing. He was the nicest man.

Back when S.F....still had the 'working man's' presence. The docks..seamen, longshore, and fishermen.

Growing up in an AL city we didn’t get to see Willie in his prime. TV coverage was scant in those days, but we collected baseball cards and followed all the great players in the box scores and Willie was certainly one of them.

In my early teens I had 3 teams, the Giants, Dodgers and Yankees. The Giants and Yankees because of their hitters and the Dodgers because they always had great pitching. Radio and TV. And those broadcasters could make you feel as if you were at the game.
