It’s time the RC Church removes the vow of celibacy and allows for heterosexual and same sex marriages. When these men have their own children they may have a different idea about harming innocent kids.

I agree that they should be allowed to marry - but there are plenty of non-parents who do not ever think of harming kids, and plenty of parents who do. If you’re a pedophile, you’re a pedophile. It’s the fault of the church for covering this up for decades.

Jesus mentioned in one of his sermons I believe cannot remember if it was in Mathew Mark Luke or John but anyway he said if anyone harms children or in his words little ones it was better to something he said can't remember

And he'll be transferred to a different parish.. Same way with republicans, they are found guilty of child molesting and get jobs at Fox News or the White House..

Where will it all end? A few things that would probably help: end culture of clericalism, end priestly celibacy requirements, exodus from the pews of this hopelessly corrupt organization.

Jeff, I see you are an author. That’s great... But are you pitching to NY Times to write an article or editorial insulting priests in general, OR the entire Catholic faith? Just wondering. I’ll say a few Hail Mary’s and Glory Be’s for you on this All Souls Day.

I know Father Jenick since I was a kid. Grew up in that church. From 1st communion & confirmation, to him baptizing my kids. We were a family of 9 and he helped us find housing. He kept drug dealers at bay & was very involved in the community. I call BS on this one!

This is not news. Catholic church has been sexually abusing boys for a very long time yet like so many horrific acts we look the other way until it fades from our memories. The church will only do something about it after the collection baskets dry up

The word prayer will never be the same for the victims. Instead of adoration, it will be a cry for help that went unanswered. Horrid world we live in.

People - when a rat dresses in the garb of a 'protector' or of a 'shepherd' or of a teacher or police officer for the PURPOSE of ripping a child or innocent to pieces, I think they must be put down. There is no road to recovery for such a vile and reprehensible character. Periodpic.twitter.com/AaHUeuMBUl

I am a Catholic, this is so sad. I want to know what the other religious organizations do when their Bishops do this? Because they do, we just don't hear about it as often.

Most other cults don’t take make their clergymen chaste. That’s the root of the problem.
