Social media must devise a mechanism to filter out hate propaganda or violent messages. This is really important to save lives and create a balanced society. At present the social media is the main carrier of anti social or racist propaganda at many places that creates violence.

Are you saying the public can’t be trusted to vet out hateful messages? Instead corporations and governments should decide what information they are allowed to see? That’s not freedom of speech! That’s not America!

Of all organizations you should be the last to demand censorship. We all know that speech which is unpopular is what needs First Amendment protections the most. Shame on the NYT!
