“How do you calm your child’s fears about the bogeyman, when the bogeyman is real?” She never told her son she witnessed the Virginia Tech massacre. But after Parkland, she wonders: Did her son inherit her anxiety? https://nyti.ms/2DddLaD pic.twitter.com/NRLiVl6ukI

Charles Blow lets a lot slip out to set up his epiphanies: enters house where Brothers brutally hazing. Sees fellow pledge Don "half conscious, convulsing like a sprayed roach..ears bleeding." Leaves house on silly search that leads him to "manhood." No more mention of Don.

Charles Blow is coy about his condoning & infliction of violence on young men as president Gamma Psi. Brutal hazing wasn't REALLY HIM, it was something outside him, that "blinded" him, was US as society, an institution, WE accepted it. Tedious excuses in book & tour interviews.

Yes is my feeling that kids pick up from MOM even before birth. It’s impossible to ‘hide’ feelings..I think they get transmitted without words. Then what they do with them is based on the support system they have around them. If dialog is not encouraged-problems can arise later.

Word needs to get out about Charles Blow. Willfully defied KAP's hazing ban & as president Gamma Psi/ Grambling 2 YRS worked with other schools' chapters to take brutality underground. Excuses in book & tour interviews are horrifying. Roosevelt House segment on hazing typical.

Oh for fucksake I lived during bomb drills, nuclear bomb drills, duck and cover but you know what? Most of us had a strong foundation in the church and we had two parents in our house and we had very little to fear. Kids these days have no foundation outside of forced medication.
