In Opinion The editorial board writes, "Angela Merkel, trained as a scientist in East Germany and the first woman to serve as German chancellor, stood up to Trump and Putin, and nobly — some now say foolishly — opened Germany’s doors to refugees"https://nyti.ms/2Q5iCxv

Speak to Germans who will tell you how poorly behaved the ‘refugees’ are. So many citizens victims of their horrendous behaviour. That’s the thanks Germans get for providing sanctuary. 😩

Speak to me: I am German. In what way are people 'behaving badly' when they are put in camps after a horrible time in their homelands and a tedious journey to us and have literally nothing to do? We should allow them to work and integrate not putting them on hold.

Well, she didn’t exactly open borders, she just didn’t close them. The Opened The Borders Tale is a made up one by right wing politicians in order to make her look weak and foolish.

As I said, there was no act of opening borders since they have not been closed before.

So, the borders were open and she kept borders open? Is that correct?

She had no authority to close borders to countries within the Schengen Treaty territory.

Your editorial carrys on a narrative of extreme right politicians: Merkel didn't open any boarders. She didn't close them. And closing them would have violated laws. So what she did was just right ... and an act of human kindness.

Not to mention the steady economy under her government. People will bite themselves at last chasing for some kind of ridiculous ideology to oust her. Honestly, the only considerable mistake she’s ever made is about refugees.

She made many mistakes. But not closing her eyes about the situation in 2015 made her acceptable. The "refugee-thing" wasn't a mistake, it was an act of humanity!

Calm down. I never doubt she did I that out of good will and humanity. And that’s probably one of the most important reasons I adore her. I’m simply saying it’s a huge political leverage for people that want her to go.

I never voted for her party, but her position in 2015 made her human and a real leader. Since those days she's got my full respect!
