Environmentalists said the move was a significant setback for efforts to protect the animals from extinction and would further threaten the fewer than 30,000 rhinos and 3,900 tigers still in the wildhttps://nyti.ms/2QaupuA

And the truly sad thing about all this, is that rhino horn has zero medicinal properties. Such stupid destruction for nothing more than a placebo.

Will South Africa’s President @CyrilRamaphosa save the rhinos from #China? https://www.savingthewild.com/2018/10/sa-china-rhino/ … A stand against #corruption, or a legacy of #extinction... "Just do something and do it now before it is too late.”-Dr Jane Goodall

And this is how the marijuana industry began. Same exact logic & detrimental results. Rhino horns, Tiger bones, & MedPot all in the name of healing. China trying to cash in on the West's hunger for naive experimentation. I couldn't make this stuff up if I tried. @KevinSabet SMH

How can you equivocate a plant that IS known to have some medicinal properties to body parts of animals that have absolutely no medicinal purpose and is rooted in ancient superstition?

TCM is complete BS but we Westerners should not be so smug with our embrace of cupping and herbal remedies etc. Magical thinking kills rare species even if you would never ingest a pangolin scale or drink shark fin soup. Your silence is killing them.

This is outrageous. There is no scientific proof of any kind to back their reversal. Environmentalist and activists need to put pressure on this to stop the extenction of the worlds rhinos and tigers. We cannot let these beautiful animals become extinct for nothing.

Chinese medicine from animal body parts has NO medicinal value or curative properties so mostly a bullshit cultural traditional that could be replaced by mass produced synthetics a fraction of the price! President Xi Jinping #XiJinping knows this so intercede and keep ban !

How can a civilization thousands of years old still think keratin and bones will get them a virile? Then I think about Mormons who rule Utah and their nutcase leader Joseph Golden Briefs Smith was alive just a century half ago & it's been less than 33 years Scientology guru died.
