“My cup overflows with love,” Rabbi Myers said at the vigil in Pittsburgh on Sunday, according to an account in The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. “That’s how you defeat hate.”https://nyti.ms/2Qck8h6

Not to sound like an asshole but, "love" has been preached for a long time and guess what? Then again, maybe its the preaching part that is causing the conflict.

Love doesn't work when it's not shown. And not showing it is in the end no different from hating.

I agree. Too many seem to show little if any, basic human compassion let alone love. But lets be honest, religion people talk of love a lot but many times it is used for something far removed from love. It's given way too much credit as a "fix" for our problems.

Actually ...hate is defeated by love getting angry to protect the humans who are being attacked with racist, anti-Semitic, homophobic assaults.. intolerance for intolerance actually is the way that hate gets cordoned off.

Do not group hate with noble anger against hate. No change has ever come by not standing up aggressively with true righteous anger against the hate that created violence. To say otherwise is to ignore modern history and every time hate was defeated.
