There is no such thing as a migrant caravan. They are asylum seekers. They are not invading our country. They are lawfully going to legal points of entry. They are not assaulting us. They are coming to legally apply for asylum. Donald Trump will try to kidnap their children.

there's no war nor dictatorship in their country. They're not legitimate to ask for an asylum. And even if there was, they have to ask asylum at the first safe country they reach: Mexico.

my favorite thing about this article might be how it isn't until almost the very end of it that we find out that this caravan is over a thousand miles away. talk about burying the lede

Or that it happens every year. Or how 90% of them will disperse around Mexico and never come to the border.

Waste of time and resources, all for a racist political stunt. Absolutely nobody should cover this bs. Cover the real issues that ACTUALLY matter to most Americans. I don't care if he's the so called President. You journalists know what this is. Stop feeding it.

Treasury will need to issue $1.3 trillion n new debt. Big surprise #GOPTaxScam didn’t deliver promised growth & revenue. But the 1% & large corporations/CEOs/shareholders got a lovely windfall. Stagnant wages. Healthcare costs rising. When Trump announces the country is being "invaded" when it is NOT, and sends troops to the border as though there's a military conflict when there is NOT, the media has every right to say Trump is emulating Hitler's use of the Reichstag Fire to stoke domestic panic pre-election.

And what exactly will these 800 Do for months while they wait for them to arrive? Really stupid to do, and do so far in advance. The amount of money it takes to feed and house these 800 for 4 months could actually feed and house the asylum seekers as they apply for asylum.

Tbh probably the same thing they’d do on post. Hurry up, pt, wait, hurry up, training stuff, maybe patrols, build something, tear it down and rebuild it, wait and then hurry up and wait, and then nothing and then wait some more, quickly.
