Blaming the rise to power of strong men and neoconservatism on evangelicals is giving carte blanche to the ultra-liberal and anti-Christ Agenda. Christian democracy rationalizes alt-right's extremism movement and moralizes far left progressive evil ideology.
-
Jesus was a socialist and a liberal.
-
Never! Jesus was independent! He paid taxes that he should not have paid. He encouraged workfare than welfare.. He obeyed laws and encouraged his disciples to do so. Giving to the poor and welcoming refugees do not make him a social but a centrist(moderate conservative)
-
As a Jew, Judaism was the law of the land. If he was a conservative, he would of conformed to the established norms of society, instead he took liberal strides and started his own sect. He dismissed the Old Testament, creating a story of his own.
-
I dont see where Jesus changed social and moral aspect of Judaism law. Creating his own sect was more spiritual than any other perspective. He also said I dont come to abolish the law but to practice it. He was a moderate who rationalized the law and moralized extremism by love.

Power hungry. Thats all it is. Religion has nothing to do with it. Power, and money
-
Well that is the basis of religion, power and money. Tax free business, they hold power amongst their congregation and local officials. If a religion makes you a better person, more power to you, but it functions as a business, it should be taxed..
-
Its a fully fledged commercial enterprise in the states, it is insane. The GOP / evangelical bargain is obvious: we enable u to make ur tax free millions, we defend pro-life position: you vote for us no matter what, and make sure ur congregation does likewise
-
They're not pro life, I don't think they believe most of what they say, Maybe pro-birth but god forbid we provide the public with insurance to ensure people are able to live a long and healthy lives. God forbid we put more into public education, so that life can prosper.
-
You are right, “pro life” i should have said. Their actual attitudes to the *living* poor and needy is shocking. Its just a political position, used to promote single issue voters among uneducated white christians in their constituencies

Everything we were told to fear about Islamic terrorists we see in Right Wing Christians- misogynist, anti-gay, A hatred for freedom, secular society, and democracy itself. The sooner they are removed from political life (Right down to local office), the better.
