My husband of 30 years is kind, respectful, humble, supportive of women's rights, giving and brave. He has put himself in danger to protect people. He speaks up for equality and against hate. We need to stop stereotyping. We can all be gentle and brave.

This headline seems like trolling or clickbait. The

Why do you have to choose, one man can be both.

Why are these mutually exclusive?

They just are, typically

Not in my experience thankfully. I know literally dozens of men who are both of these things just in my tiny town!

Immediately after I wrote that, I realized you and I were likely assuming different things. Per your response, I have to agree with you.

This reminds me of my husband, because he’s willing to do both of those things. He tried to break up a dog fight once, had to get stitches, silly.

Wow. It’s almost as if women are human beings able to make their own choices based on their very own preferences. Thanks, NYT!

I would like to think I or my husband would both shield our child from a vicious dog with our bare hands. That's what parents do. I also love my husband for shielding my son from toxic misogynistic ideas, like those being espoused here. Real strong men aren't misogynists.

. God bless Susan. Also, he may surprise and visit a synagogue
