More than an hour after the flight landed in Honduras, an immigration officer emerged bearing 2-year-old Fernanda in his arms. Her mother wept. “Mi amor,” she called out, “my love.” But there was no smile of recognition — just a blank stare.https://nyti.ms/2EK01pi

Those who claim to be Christian and support Trump, you need to choose because you cannot do both. Many who have chosen Christ have not fared well. Most have chosen to abandon Christ and their souls.

You know, I’m afraid you are right. It has hit me like a ton of bricks this week. I have always been Republican, but I have seen so many hateful comments about Honduran refugees by people calling themselves Christians. Jesus would not separate children from their parents😢

I’m confident that the Republican rhetoric wasn’t always this hateful. The worst part is the US knows the president in Honduras lost the election but stayed in office through fraud and military oppression- and they chose to back him anyway. I have lost all faith in our government

The history of US support of repression and overthrow of democratically elected governments in the Americas is painful. Those seeking refuge are fleeing a condition created with inordinate influence by the US, but they have nowhere else to go and do not seem to blame the US.

If you watch Honduran tv, they do blame the US. It depends on what channel you watch. I watch the channel of the opposition, and not the channels that back the regimen. Fake news is a huge problem in Honduras, something that really came to light in the last year.

100% parents fault...We cannot allow #ChildTrafficking any longer and simply trust everybodies word that bring these children to the US...That's girl is lucky to be alive and reunited...Some arent so lucky and those are the ones the left leaves out of their narrative...

A toddler was sent to immigration court? Surely this CANNOT be the same country that fights wars to defend human rights?

Let's be honest when was the last time the US fought a war to defend human rights. The US only rights war for oil.

So Trump now appears to add child abuser to his long list of inhumane, abhorrent and amoral traits. Shame on him and his supporters. I hope their God can forgive them.

GRANDMA STOLE CHILD!! READ THE ARTICLE The family had been furious over Ms. Archaga’s decision to take the child with her to the United States, a decision, they believed, made with the hope that having a child with her would facilitate her entry, albeit illegally, into the US

I was roughly that age when the state placed me w/my adopted parents. I don't recall this, but my parents say I had that expressionless look when they got me. My dad called it the "thousand yard stare" & my mom says that it's consistent with abuse/trauma. God damn Trump.
