At the Little Free Libraries, there’s no due date. No fines. You might never return a book. You might leave another instead. And, they are inherently cute.https://nyti.ms/2D7GtJU

They are cute. They are little. They have books (occasionally even good ones!) But they are not libraries, my friends. Not. Libraries.

YES. I will die on the LFL hill. They aren't libraries and, because they're usually found in communities of relative privilege, they also usually don't expand access to literacy or literature.

We have a tiny library in our Los Angeles County canyon - ours was conceived and designed by a 10 year old resident, and built by her dad. Everyone loves it.pic.twitter.com/zSNzcniyN6

I love the idea of little free libraries, but what I love even more is BIG free libraries—you know: public libraries. Show public libraries some love.

These wonderful reading treasure troves are located all around Memphis (TN). Often, ‘borrowers’ return books with notes about their reading journey, or simply good wishes, to different neighborhoods. What joy there is in sharing books & building community!

This is a wonderful idea to share, read books. Offer these to poor community area to benefit those who can't buy books. #lovebooks
