Hospitals, nursing homes and other facilities need single use items because washing and reusing can be too much of a potential hazard where diseases can proliferate.

Participating stores have an identifying green sticker in the window. When you return the cup, these stores will disinfect and reuse the cups, which can be reused up to 400 times.https://www.weforum.org/agenda/2017/12/germany-has-come-up-with-the-best-solution-to-single-use-coffee-cups …

It's not that we don't know what to do. The government just doesn't care, as long as someone is paying them not to. They will always sell off our interests to the highest bidder.

Edible cutlery is the future of eco- friendly utensils. Eating food on big- banana leaves bio-degradable waste. Living close to nature with out destroying it's Divinity is the need of the hour. As plastic is slowly entering our food chain. Zero #plastic revolution has to come.pic.twitter.com/3fxlygvcYF

why not just tax it, create a marketplace for alternatives and use those funds strictly for clean up? Did you know Trunp signed the Sullivan Bill, aimed at cleaning up plastics from the ocean? Did you guys cover that, or just water carriers for an unelected govt body...

I was in Europe for a few weeks and everyone brings there own bags to the Store. If they don't, they must pay 5 euro. I wish America would do this. We need to have more concern for our environment!

I don't know about all of Europe, but in Germany we already have a thorough recycling system. It's not perfect, but the tons of garbage landing in the ocean comes from countries that have no environmental protection system. Help them to develop this.
