Why the killing of one man set off a louder uproar than other Saudi actions — such as the war in Yemen and the humanitarian crisis it has caused therehttps://nyti.ms/2D4w2H9

I can't speak for everyone in the country but the fact that the media has covered Khashoggi's murder waaaay more than the horrid war in Yemen seems to have made a difference, IMHO.

Hit the nail imo totally here and why is that? Why is the human catastrophe currently hapening in Yemen not covered accurately? Is it not important, hasn't it passed the massiv level of human suffering for being broadcasted by a large margin? Who profits from this silence?

If it had been Iranians missiles would already be flying! Yemen is happening thanks to arms sold by the West! Which is why Saudi Arabia gets to escape travel bans and sanctions-despite being complicit in 2001 (allegedly).

Because Khashoggi case was politicized to pressure Saudi govt. to let Muslim brotherhood execute their plans in the region, along with Irani gov creating more hizbullas groups; in Yemen and Syria.

Simple... The plight of people half a world away isn't in the face of Americans so they're apathetic about it. The killing of a journalist who lived & worked in the US is front & center. It relates directly to Trump's rhetoric towards the press & praise of violence against them.pic.twitter.com/v0lUJP80HY
