Doctors routinely leave bullet fragment inside the bodies of people who have been shot, because it can be riskier to remove them. We asked survivors of mass shootings: What’s it like to live with the object that almost killed you?https://nyti.ms/2D25Htc

Why do this story? Any chance of something positive? Interviewing victims reminding them about their trauma is dark and not something people want to read. 😒 Let them move forward in peace.

First, yes it is something positive. It's empowering for survivors. Next, these survivors chose to be interviewed. They weren't interrogated. Finally, you may not want to learn about their experience, but others do. It can help to educate others towards common sense gun laws.pic.twitter.com/wk4DMbi5Cs

And one trying to portray a voluntary interview as anything but...is disingenuous at best that weaves a false narrative.

Okay then Kahil, thanks for your comments. Most folks care about gun laws and yes it's important to stop it tragedy! To be frank, it becomes morbid to hear the horrific details close up. It becomes something else in my opinion. Voyeuristic and ghoulish.

Yes, because there are no disfiguring violent crime problems in the rest of the world, right? No problems with stabbings, acid attacks, bombings, burnings, shootings... It's only America where this is a problem. Exclusively.
