"The Haunting of Hill House" has struck a chord with critics and viewers — including another master of horror, Stephen King, who praised it as "close to a work of genius, really" https://nyti.ms/2D2q7Cf  [correcting link]

9/10 of #TheHauntingOfHillHouse was very, very good. But that finale...so bad.

That casting dilemma when you need to convince viewers that all part of a family yet you risk them mixing up the characters as they all look so similar....

Seriously, I am a white female but all the lead females looked the same to me - I had to keep asking my husband- which sister is that.

It took me half an hour to realise that the kids were the same people as the adults. Either chronically bad writing or me. And I was paying attention.

I switched it off because it was all over the place and very confusing as to who was who. The first episode should grab people from the start

I'm three episodes in and loving #TheHauntingOfHillHouse. Whoever handled the casting of the younger versions of the MCs deserves an award. Just spot on, especially young Shirley and Hugh.
