I left the Catholic Church as soon as the church let pedophiles go free. Have you seen Spotlight? How could you slap the victims in the face by remaining in the church? The church should have ended. Everyone should have walked away in the name of the victims. Not Christians!

How about investigating the scandals among clergy of other faiths, counselors, coaches, etc. Sick of anti-Catholicismbeing wrapped in s blanket of concern for victims.

Journalistic handwringing. 31 million adult Americans have left the church. 51 million remain.

Unfortunately, it’s a very tragic and very unbearable state of affairs within the Catholic “church”. Neaninung from the Vatican on down.

The fact that these things occurred under the oversight of the highest members of the catholic hierarchy is to say the least very disturbing

The fact that it's been going on & covered up for decades @ the expense of trusting families is damning. God opens our eyes to truth---unless the clergy shuts them closed and silences the victims. That's not a work of God.

what sick men do should not be a deterrent of faith. Men have used religion as a place of power for centuries. if you want to honor God, Angel's and the battalion of celestial Saints then do so. Check out the Santo Daime if you want to enter the new dimension of faith

My parents were divorced but remained good friends. The church called my mom the day before my dad's funeral asking if did anything to disgrace the church. He had been a member of this church since he was a young boy. This was the point I lost faith with the church, 31 years

It isn't easy. Too much has been swept under the rug. It's a breaking point for many of us. Major change absolutely must occur.

Saying, "I'm not Catholic" is not a "huge" statement. The majority of humans on the planet can say it every day.

I fail to see how the behaviour of some priests has anything to do with anyone else's faith. Being a catholic doesn't automatically mean you endorse the crimes of other people, just like being a muslim doesn't mean you endorse the crimes of ISIS...

It was institutionalised abuse. It was NOT “just a few bad apples”. They KNEW. They knew for decades. It was covered up all the way to the Vatican. Look at Royal Commission into Institutionslised Responses to Child Sexual Abuse in Australia. The system is rotten to the core.

... i was only saying that most catholics aren't responsible for this and shouldn't feel ashamed of their faith, because they've done nothing wrong. Like muslims with ISIS, like americans with trump...
