As most of the students chatted over warm plates of pasta, about a dozen immigrant children unwrapped sandwiches. They were segregated because they had lost their daily lunch subsidy.https://nyti.ms/2EE2phw

What @nytimes here fails to tell you, is that Countries like Italy are deep deep in debt and have had to be bailed out once already. Subsidizing immigrants on the tax payer's dime shouldn't be something the people in Italy have to deal with. Stop trying to shame them.

It’s f*cking Pasta, next to tortillas the cheapest thing to eat!! Kids eat about 4-6 tbsp of food each. How sad the world & cruel, sick minded ppl pick on children for things they can’t do anything about! Like that baby “defending herself” in US Immigration Court! Beyond cruelty.

It's bad for the children, but their parents need to step up to the plate and support the children they brought to another country and not rely on that country to support their children.

Ohhhhh nooooo. Not still perfectly healthy food! How entitled can you be? Some of the places they come from the kids would be in the fields rather than school and getting a huge helping of nothing for lunch.
