Do some Americans truly believe it is the duty of their government to take in and cater for the caravan of people heading to their country? Hmm. I see why the Republican party is going to win the mid-term elections.

Why do you call it "illegal immigration" when these people apply for asylum under HUMAN RIGHTS law? Either: Delete your Trump-language or describe what legitimizes your neglect-human-rights-discourse, according to yourself.

You're legitimatizing a horror policy by referring to asylum seekers, under @UN human rights, as "Illegal immigrants". Neither the @nytimes nor Trump decide what these people their @UN basic human rights are, spinning it as "illegal".

Why are they carrying a flag from Honduras if they truly want to be Americans? And until our ghettos, slums and projects are fixed we have no business taking care of the rest of the world.

That's an opinion, that you are entitled to, but it doesnt mean the NYT can just decide it's "illegal" what they are doing.... by law it's not. The NYT is not a lawmaker.

What are Democrats going to run on? Higher taxes? Higher unemployment? Lower GDP? Unaffordable health care? Weaker borders? Hurt feelings? Everything is racist? Free stuff?

You’re confused. You clearly hate your country if you’re all for bands of people from violent 3rd world countries trying to break through our borders. Asylum speakers seek asylum at the next closest country.

We are a 1st world violent country. Maybe we should deal with this the same way we did when the Irish or the Jews (the 2nd wave) came. They are walking here!!!! That’s desperation. Can you imagine walking to Florida?

Congrats-you win the hyperbole award today. They can stop in the first country they cross into. They attacked the Mexican police who tried to contain them. Our welfare is better hence they won’t stop.

What I am saying is... 5000 people headed for the US on foot is a desperate act. Meaning desperate people have nothing to lose. It’s scary. I’m a D and don’t think we should let all these people in. But the the contempt for the D’s and encouraged violence by Trump

A second caravan is already forming. This will not stop. This is our version of the migrant crisis in Europe. Paris is unrecognizable, London is engulfed in stabbings, Sweden is canceling music festivals after numerous sex assaults. This is not our problem

Maybe we should open a can whoopass on their authoritarian government. That’s why we need to advocate freedom around the world so people won’t flee.

Like the mess Obama admitted responsibility for in Libya which resulted in black African men ending up in slave markets? No. How how about economic sanctions; UN intervention etc. This isn’t our problem
