Bummer! Why must we destroy the environment to "save" it? Keep Diablo Canyon open instead and reopen San Onofre. Lots of clean electricity, very little disturbance of ocean views and California's glorious coasts. We can have clean electricity AND beautiful coasts. Stop this!

They have 11,000 windmills sitting idle all over the state right now that didn't work and tax payer paid billions for them. Someone needs to put a stop to California. Why should my tax dollars have to go to bail out their failed projects?

Ontario, Canada has a similar problem with 15 years of Liberal wind projects, thankfully the new conservative government has been canceling them. Liberal Gov even signed contracts guaranteeing 3-4x the going rate for electricity and pays for it even if the mills aren't producing.

And don't get me wrong, I have no problem with green energy projects. I really just don't get why we jumped on a green energy projects that didn't work.

Agreed! It's not that they jumped on, discovered they didn't work as intended then stopped and looked at something else. They doubled down on the broken initiative! It disrespects the tax payer and the environment.

We need to rake another look at hydroelectric energy farms. If we turned back on all the generators at Hoover damn, we could power the entire mid west. It is just another form of corruption. Somebody has a major interest in these wind companies.

We have a huge state with wind all the time. Why the F do they need to build it in the freaking ocean?

The biggest push back from the public with windmills is their size, noise, shadows and ugliness & they require hundreds across the country side. So put them where ppl cant see them I guess. ppl should be more worried about the massive cost, inefficiency and short life span.

They kill birds as well. I hope they make the companies hold a reserve for demolition once they are obsolete.

A windmill that doesn't produce power on land, still won't produce power on the water.

The abandoned windmills sitting all over California right now is the proof. They don't work. They cost more than they can produce in power. 1 blade costs more than the windmill will produce in it's life.

#FakeNews Where are these abandoned wind turbines you speak of? Upon a search I found a total of 1% of the turbines are in "inactive" status in the USA.
