Billie Sutton is running for South Dakota governor as an anti-abortion conservative Democrat with cowboy cred and a stirring life story. Is that enough to defeat the GOP's domination in the state?https://nyti.ms/2CXdt7G

At what point do you stop being a Democrat? Like if someone ran as a pro-immigrant rights Republican, are they really even a Republican at that point?

Wrong. Republicans are not anti-immigrant rights (LEGAL immigrants have equal rights! ILLEGAL ones rightfully don't!). They are anti-ILLEGAL-Immigrant. I think you all conflate the two on purpose to create a false issue. ALL THE TIME.

Republicans: I'm not anti-immigrant! I'm all for legal immigration! Also Republicans: We must reduce the avenues for legal immigration.

Unlimited immigration means destruction of ones country. Too much of anything is bad. Immigration should be based on merit. Are you useful, will you work, will you honor & defend this country and no other, then come on in. Can't just say doors open, help yourselves...

Your logic is flawed here. Many immigrants come where for travel and not to stay, many immigrants hold dual citizenship. You a troll.or just really uninformed??

Uh, "immigrant" implies coming to stay. I think you mean "tourist" or "visitor"

And how is this better than the GOP alternative? He still wants to take away a woman's choice. No sale.

What makes him different from a Republican? The fact he calls himself a Democrat? He's an anti-abortion conservative. That is in no way, shape, or form, a Democrat. It would be more of the same.

Hmmm. Seemed like he focused more on domestic policy, specifically economic, to relate to those most vulnerable to tariffs, etc. It is going to take a more moderate Democrat to win over historically red areas
