I cancelled my 35 year subscription to the #NYT for this very reason. The last straw was the planted Rod Rosenstein story but they were/Are notorious about printing unconscionable crap like this. Next they'll say Tommy Jeff courted Sally Hemmings.

Oh NYT just when I considered a subscription, thx for saving me $. I read the article hoping for clarity and it appears to be some Sally Fields shit but still i think the gross indecency of this headline makes light of the suffering & brutal rape of black woman in slavery.

Some of them were forced a concubines and wife of slave's owners turn a blind eye on this. But some fell in love but in secret. Mixed races create beautiful and strong people and no boundaries in culture.

How do you know the women fell in love? Did you read a slave narrative about that? What was it called?

This can’t be a real question, NYT. Surely some copy editor could have not pressed send on this headline which most know to be an historical fact. Y’all slacking.
