The Khashoggi crisis has called attention to a largely overlooked Saudi-led war in Yemen. On a rare trip to the front line, New York Times journalists found Yemenis fighting and dying in a war that has gone nowhere.https://nyti.ms/2Ey0KKl

NYT's only job is to report on issues from around the world to its readers. Yemen only went "overlooked" because NYT chose to, & is only now calling attention to it because political motivations in Washington require it to. Despicable.

Iran will secure its control on the 4th Arab capital it controls. Or Saudi Arabia would push away the Iranian backed Houthi from its doorstep. There's also the strategic straight of Bab Almandab. Either it's open by US approved government or Iran use it against the US.

Or Saudi Arabia will regain its control over Yemen and its people. Let’s not forget that side of things.

Unfortunately the world no longer listen to those Yemenis, who took it to the streets in 2011 & overthrew their dictator. The Yemeni Nobel peace winner @TawakkolKarmanmade it clear they want free Yemen not controled by any foreign power, but no foreign power cares.

Absolutely. All I am saying is that SA is not coming in as a saviour or just to protect itself. Iran and SA are fighting over control. To be clear I did mot@mean to suggest that you were defending SA.

Well not really true. But yes, war in Yemen ends the moment US&UK withdraw support for Saudi carnage. Saudis couldn't sustain the operation alone for a week

Overlooked? I wonder why? American Complicity? When someone is buying billions of dollars of your weapons “what are you using them for” obviously never crosses your mind.

If only there was something like a large American Newspaper that could have covered the genocidal war Saudi Arabia is waging with US/UK support on the people of Yemen.

TRANSLATION: NYT has ignored the war in Yemen because our corporate & intel masters were fine with it when Obama gave it the green light & we loved the Saudis. However, now that we can pin it on Trump & bashing the Saudis is in vogue, we are all over it.

Nothings says pathetic more than a newspaper scratching its head over why a war that is bringing about a world catastrophe is being overlooked.

Well said. When they say "overlooked", they obviously chose to overlook it. The war was no secret, just deliberately ignored.
