And Trump has just appointed Maine's Mary Mayhew to head Medicaid. She did a great job of dismantling Medicaid in Maine, as far as the GOP is concerned, that is -- not the families of those who died.https://twitter.com/Apinak/status/1053671170170441729 …

Hey @nytimes, As a Georgia resident who lives 5 miles from a hospital that closed, which means the nearest is now 25 miles away, this isn't @staceyabrams "trying to win rural votes by framing the expansion of Medicaid as a move to save small-town hospitals." IT'S A DAMN FACT. 🌊

The dumb republican governors who refused about 80 billion dollars from the ACA because it was Obama's signature achievement- killed ten of thousands of patients because hospitals closed down and less people were insured..Everyone of these red states keep impoverishing the people

Georgia has the highest maternal mortality rate in the Nation. The US is the only developed nation with a rising maternal mortality rate. You bet your sweet ass people want hospitals near them.

This is in the Democratic wheelhouse. We should definitely take the lead on this. Not as a ‘tactic’ but as an actual concern for rural America and the issues they face - poor to no internet; lack of accessible healthcare; high doctor/nurse turnover; transportation issues.

She's right. Rural hospitals support the entire economy of many rural towns. Without those jobs, the tax base is gone, destroying schools & infrastructure. 6 national hospital organizations filed a brief supporting Medicaid expansion.https://www.aha.org/amicus-brief/2012-02-17-hospital-groups-file-amicus-brief-supporting-aca-medicaid-expansion …

“Medicaid expansion" isn't a slogan – it's a moral & economic imperative for our state. By expanding Medicaid, we will save our rural hospitals, save & create tens of thousands of jobs, and...save lives. I am the ONLY candidate for #GAGov who will get it done. ~ @staceyabrams

Stay in your lane, @nytimes! If you were to spend one week in rural south GA, you would see dozens of mobile trauma units (GA legislators call them "meat wagons") transporting elderly and emergency patients to medical centers 1-2 hours away. Stacey's not "framing" JACK SQUAT!
