UH. I'm no joke scientist here, but it sounds like a joke about the perception of police officers. A joke which seems only funnier upon reading these comments.

Practically besides the point. Even if the officer was joking, think how someone would feel about having an armed officer come up and talk about killing them. The standards police officers hold themselves to in public should be higher than, "joke about murdering people."

Yah. And he got fired for it. Hartford agreed with you. But to think the guy was speaking honestly, and not joking?

Any police officer who acts like this should be fired regardless of color. This is not an issue of color, but an issue of disrespecting his badge. Of course there are a few bad cops, but many, many more who are "great cops".

And police will continue to wonder why they aren’t trusted, failing to realize stories like these are all too commonplace and each one serves to erode the public’s trust in them.

What race was the cop who threatened to shoot the kids over a bb gun? Should I get some more examples because it will be very easy to see there is a bias whether they're trying to or not.

Nice anecdote. No thanks. I'm not going to adopt racism just because you found three arguments by those who have already adopted it.
