I think if you can't honestly do the work that an average student can do in college you shouldn't be there anyway, let the NBA develop that talent, let the schools educate students.

Even if they can do the work , it’s gotta be tough. Playing a revenue sport takes up an assload of time. Not impossible , sure. Not easy though. This sounds like a good idea. Talent would be diluted but the competition wouldn’t. I’m good with it.

Sure, go try to build your brand in the G league. Let me know how that works out.

If they willing to pay $125K it tells me they’re trying to attract talent. We’ve already seen how dudes can come from or use G league too

This is great for players coming outside the USA who don’t want to go to college just to make it in the #NBA .. now they have a path to make pro just like how football/soccer does it around the world

Great news! Now players can get paid & not have to waste time if they're not genuinely interested in college.

Or the @NBA could just stop discriminating on the basis of age and let the teams assume the risk and cost of drafting/developing young athletes - like any sane sports league would do.

I like this concept, 1 and done was ridiculous, I could care less if my alma mater lands an NBA prospect, it’s not about that for me.

NBA and NFL should do something like NHL does. Kids can be drafted at 18, and if they want to go to college they can, until they sign a pro contract. There can be protections built in where if they get hurt they can finish the degree on scholarship and the teams pay $150k or so

South Carolina offers players 4 year scholarships, and if players decide to leave early they can come back and finish their degree for free.

I don't read much sports news in the NYT, but it's really annoying that your style guide uses periods between NBA, NFL, etc. But since you do it, why don't you also use that format on Twitter?
