The federal student loan forgiveness program for public servants is such a quagmire that Congress set up a separate relief program to help with complications from that original relief program. Nearly 30,000 people have applied. Nobody has qualified yet.https://nyti.ms/2CPODH0

A government program that has Byzantine, confusing, and redundant requirements? Imagine that... if you owe the government money, they’ll just take it. Government owes you money? Fill out 1500 versions of the same form, jump through flaming hoops, and sacrifice your first born.

And then everyone wonders why I'm so against the government running my health care. BTW, I am from the state that spent 200 million dollars on a government health care website that never happened.

The public service loan forgiveness program is part of the loan documents students sign prior to receiving the loan.

The PSLF program is *not* part of the MPN (Master Promissory Note) that you sign.

It is mentioned for your knowledge, but you do not sign up for it when you complete an MPN. The form to get into the PSLF program is different. Sorry if we misunderstood.

My daughter has worked 10 years in public service. Her loans should be forgiven. It's a scam. In the meantime, loan payments are made. Do you think ZERO balance will be forgiven. Even that's not likely.

Loan forgiveness makes no sense. The taxpayers get soaked while Federal employees get to walk away from personal debt they voluntarily accrued. No!

As many public employees earn more than their private sector equivalents AND get a pension and fantastic benefits, I don’t think there will be a public outcry
