There are several ways to ask the question, "Are tax cuts paying for themselves?" Based on the data we have right now, they all arrive at the same answer: "No."https://nyti.ms/2CMlxIg

based on the data we have NOW? how about the last 40 years? tax cuts have never paid for themselves. if only there were some national sort of newspaper that could have explained this beforehand and held our government accountable for their lies

We've paid taxes for years and years, but Democrats, when in power, abused these incoming funds, and had no transparency...enough is enough!!! 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸 #MAGA

Tax cuts are not "paying for" or "not paying for" anything at all. They are simply the Government taking less from the taxpayer. This Leftist economic bullshit is ridiculous.

this is not new news - Reagan's fiasco proved it in the 80s, how many times do we have to go through the same tired arguments? Let's return to Eisenhower level income tax rates.

Fairness. That's all the majority of the people are asking for. But when you have greedy crooked R traitors in power, you won't ever have a modicum of fairness.

"Based on the data we have right now," as if this is surprising or likely to ever be contradicted (or that this bald-faced lie was ever really believed by the greedheads that passed the #GOPTaxScam rather than exclusively used as a shameless-but-minor diversionary tactic).

Here’s the Trump-Republican playbook: Step 1: Pass Trillion $$$ tax giveaway to rich & powerful; Step 2: Claim #TrumpTax will pay for itself; Step 3: When facts show tax cut doesn’t pay for itself, demand cuts to middle-class programs like #Medicare, #SocialSecurity & #Medicaid.

Now that GOP wants to cut #SocialSecurity #Medicare & #Medicaid to pay for giving trillions in tax cuts to wealthy, it is time for seniors & those near retirement to march to the polls and vote for Dems. They will reverse the tax cuts and save SS, Medicare & Medicaid. Vote Blue.

Nobody should be surprised. This was known (and lied about) when the tax cuts for the wealthy were released. Now Congress wants to cut entitlements, Trump wants federal workers to give up pensions & healthcare. The pattern is clear - war against the majority of Americans. #vote
