Thank you for this. I’m surprised you tweeted this. To free thinkers this was a forgone conclusion, but coming from the NYT, it opens more eyes to the degree of the problem. Universities should be the free and open marketplace of all ideas. Critical thinking over indoctrination

Ironic that Dr. Abrams laments that conservative voices in academia (a minority) are being minimized by the majority group of liberals, when those libs are offering lessons and programming dedicated to greater understanding of inclusion, equity and the ills of majority privilege.

Read the messages. They are pathetic emotionally handicapped children, never employed, spouting about love as the ultimate objective of government, where Hell's Kitchen is the closest they will ever be to combat, because they can't do the diminished 3 pull-ups req'd to even fail.pic.twitter.com/BZNYo7nE1M

Academic Liberalism good for academics, e.g. a prof might look at student of color/disadvantaged student's paper more leniently if written awkwardly(albeit thorough) compared/Upper Middle Class Protestant students, but liberal student culture won't necessarily increase happiness

Not surprising. Also not really an issue. It's very simple, even in a Poli Sci class, you're not political, because you're learning. I've been in a different and worse and similar scenario and I'm a liberal democrat. Who voted for @SenSanders and HRC.

2/ I'm waiting to read "we should leave politics out of higher education", "they forced me to attend the "Understanding White Privilege" seminar." I went to RIC. My educators were amazing. But he's right it really is Administrators that are the issue.

3/ And I dealt with Administrators more than most students and was in student government. Just because you can parrot back ratios doesn't mean the college discriminates against conservative professors. Nor does it mean others are trying to make you conform.

4/ If you're uncomfortable with something, that probably means its more about your discomfort than theirs. Did you try walking into student life and request a more politically conservative event be held? And pray tell since it wasnt mentioned in the article, what that would be?
