Should private landowners be able to let the homeless camp on their property? An Ohio case puts that question to the test.https://nyti.ms/2yFkS77

It's their property and they should be able to have the freedom to use it as pleased.

Multiple issues: sanitation, crime and safety issues, neighborhood property values, and zoning violations. Property owners haven't been allowed to do what they want with land for a long, long time. Property owners can't even camp on own land, usually. #homelessness

It's homeowner's associations that enforce neighborhood rules the perspective property owner is made aware of before he opts in and the land owner can enforce rules on their rural acreage but it should be the landowner th a has freedom to choose I the first place.

If there is a HOA, then yes, they enforce their rules; however, there are zoning ordinances for towns, cities, counties, states. These are in addition to HOA rules. But you are correct: when someone purchases a home in a certain locale, they are agreeing to ordinances and laws.

I have a crazy revolutionary idea, but its a scary socialist one bear with me, what if we raised revenue and built homes for people to live in..... such a new idea never done before!

Great idea, or fix ones that are sitting empty. Although most people today complain about taxes and health care for all , but are putting their money into politics. Hum????

If your HOA/county code allows it, go for it. Though I wouldn’t be quick to compare humans down on their luck to trash. That’s just unnecessary.

I didn't compare anyone to trash. There are reasons zoning laws exist. You can't let people camp in your yard. Don't get mad at me about it.
