I wish people understood that controlled game hunting brings in valuable revenue that is used for conservation efforts. One giraffe license pays for 6 game rangers to protect endangered wildlife.

that’s a slippery slope. How do you justify killing something to preserve it? The animal wouldn’t need conserving if no one was killing them.

How is it legal to shoot baboons, giraffes and leopards? Had no idea this could be done.

Sickening!

This brings to mind the difference between "legal" and "ethical". In Namibia, for the right price, it is legal to hunt those exotic, endangered species. It's unethical, given their low numbers, but it's legal. I suppose what matters is which mentality is more important to you.
-
The fact that this man joked about the baboons being free of charge and posed, smiling hugely, with the female baboon and her offspring he'd killed speaks more to his ethics than it does to the legality of the killings. It doesn't matter how you dress that up-- that man is evil.

HOW, I ask, do you get to be an empty shell of a person who could enjoy this while others break just looking at the pictures?!?!

Can someone stop calling it "Africa" like it's some sort of a country? I know that this guy wouldn't be allowed in Uganda, Kenya, Rwanda & Tanzania. They're in Africa, too. There're 54 countries in Africa, so stop quotting them as one. That guy would never do that in East Africa.
-
You’re soooooooo right, but I’m only thinking of it right now cuz you made this comment! Thanks! It does make me think. At the very least, countries that don’t allow this shyte should be acknowledged and privileged over those that do. Africa’s a big place with huge diversities.

What kind of an asshole does it take to kill a beautiful, defenseless animal. It does not take any talent or skill with a high powered rifle.. It does require a total disregard and disrespect for the miracle of live and the gift that they represent.

Very well said!! I think it’s jus a matter of time before they move on to shooting humans for sport.
