Harvard's dean of admissions testified in federal court on Monday that in the interest of attracting a diverse student body, the school lowers its recruiting standards a bit for many students from rural regions — but not if they are Asian-Americanhttps://nyti.ms/2CLqa5o

Harvard Admissions Dean does not answer why Asian Americans from rural states don't get same break as whites from rural states. This is racial quota plain and simple, remember this is before Harvard even knows the details of the applicants other than scores. #Harvardlawsuit

I so did not see that coming. Loved to see "rural" where I expected to see "black".

This group and its founder, Edward Blum, could care less about Asian Americans, the point of this suit is to end protections for minorities.

It's about selfguarding constitutional rights for Asian Americans, something people like you don't think is worthy of protecting because they are not on your list of protected minorities.

Supreme Court has already ruled on the question of affirmative action’s constitutional legality based on principle. So it’s not about constitutional rights. Schools have the right to accept many factors of the students life for admission, b/c students are more then grades.

It's unconstitutional if race is used as a primary factor. Students are more than grades but the Asian American applicants had better extracurricular ratings, equal letters and alumni evals as whites, yet lower personal scores.

That’s the thing race is not the primary factor. It’s factor when the school sends out interest letters. Said interest letters don’t guarantee acceptance.

Applicants who receive the letters are much more likely to get accepted so this is wrong on all levels.

Interest letters are only that. They don’t guarantee acceptance and chances only go from 2.43 to 4.86 in general admission for all recipients not just Asain Americans.
