Democrats say Medicare for All would actually save money because Medicare's administrative costs are below those of private insurers. But does that argument hold up?https://nyti.ms/2yH5Iyf

Yes. Medicare takes about 3% off the top. Private insurers prior to the ACA's limit of 15% routinely spent less than $0.80/dollar paid by premiums. Even the Koch Bros study said so: 100% covered, no copays/deductibles, incl dental/vision/rx, for $3 Trillion less in 10 years.

We should definitely question why the next top 30 developed nations are paying less per capita for healthcare costs.

I love America - my boyfriend is from Kentucky and I visit regularly. The fact that you don’t have free healthcare is beyond unreal.

Maybe ask why we pay far more than any other country on healthcare per person but it's rated as dogshit compared to the rest of world? Why are people having their financial lives ruined by declaring bankruptcy from medical bills, the cost of which is just pushed onto others? 🤔

A question looms: Is Obamacare plunging in a so-called insurance death spiral? Is the market so unstable that plans are doomed to get more and more expensive, driving more Americans and more insurers out of the market until ... Obamacare thuds to the pavement?

The amount of time I have spent meditating between provider and insurance, when I should have been looking after my wife, is ridiculous. You can see how inefficient and wasteful the current system is, not to mention down right cruel to people dealing with serious illness.

In Canada, the average wait time for a hip replacement is nearly two years in some provinces. Patients with cataracts can end up waiting a year for surgery. The UK has fewer doctors, nurses and hospital beds per capita than any other industrialized nation

Sanders' plan would eliminate all out-of-pocket expenses for medical, dental and vision care. The only exception would be a small copay for brand-name drugs. As IBD pointed out, there is no industrialized country in the world that does this.

A new study out Monday from George Mason University's Mercatus Center finds that Sanders plan would add $32.6 trillion to federal spending in its first 10 years, with costs steadily rising from there.

This has always been true. It was mentioned in an episode of West Wing back when we had flip phones that weighed a pound and wouldn't fit in even cargo shorts pockets.
