Critics loved "First Man," but apparently the masses were less impressed. It was "Venom" that finished in first place at the box office, with an estimated weekend gross of $35.7 million.https://nyti.ms/2yGj39S

@quantifieddave The flag is seen multiple times throughout the movie wherever appropriate, including on the fucking moon. This controversy is bullshit.

I saw it also. While the flag was seen from a wide shot, briefly, the Alt-Right wanted the scene where it is paced there, with emphasis, solely for the case of American pride and history. Absurd.

No the “masses” weren’t going to spend their money to watch a rewrite of history. If they want to sell movies to Americans they can’t pretend landing on the moon was a human achievement instead of an American one. It’s probably a good movie but the flaw in Hollywood is political

it was not a global achievement, it was an American achievement. that’s why we didn’t watch it.

“First Man” was a snooze fest. Took one of the most exciting moments in the history of the world and they made it boring.

“Critics” are just drones for their liberal new organizations. Case and point: a mere 2 mainstream media reviews for @GosnellMovie despite its being the #1 independent film opening weekend. And #5 per screen, beating most studio films @nytimesarts Where’s your review of Gosnell?

Yeah liberal critics.. Watching the first human who is American plant the flag on the moon was the most patriotic accomplishment in us history. It was truly an accomplishment that many ingenious Americans accomplished. To say otherwise is a disgrace.
