They can’t be ex communicated? Just de-frocked? That’s like firing me from Applebees but letting me come for appetizers every Friday

There should definitely be a section on the topic, to make sure we never go back to this type of rule.

Gladly, it would appear more and more people are waking up to this sort of tyrannical rule that has been prevalent well beyond it's time!

In their soiled past, didn't catholic "authorities" execute OTHERS on the spot if they did not "abide" to their imaginary god? But yet, the HARSHEST punishment they can impart to their hypocritic cohorts is expulsion"?! Not even a call to their counterparts, the police?! #WOW.

@Pontifex 2 priests defrocked, what about the hundreds (?) of priests still molesting children. Another problem is an ongoing shrinking number of priests. Holy Father please consider expanding the priesthood to include married & women priests. New life replacing old ways. AMEN !

Great. Now Chile can prosecute them using Criminal Law. Why is it that it is Catholic Church always in these clergy abuse cases worldwide. Does the Roman Catholic Church have a poor priest recruitment program. Too many failures to be any other reason. Catholics, clean your act up
