As someone who’s had multiple happy polyamorous relationships, the comments section here is saddeningly close-minded.

Polyamory, if practiced with open communication between all parties involved, can be just as fulfilling as monogamy. It's saddening that we have to be having this conversation, but I'm glad more and more people are educating themselves on it.

The responses are as cringeworthy as they are completely ridiculous, boarding on laughably silly. Throughout history, those who have conscientiously and mindfully freed themselves of social constructs to love freely and openly have changed the world.

I mean, my polyam relationships have generally cost just as much energy as my monogamous relationships. It’s not for everyone but it isn’t like, some kind of ridiculous burden.

thanks! honestly I’m just sad that everyone in the comments section is acting like polyamory is some kind of terrible thing or unreachable ideal. it’s just another form of relationship that isn’t for everyone but should be seen as an option/have education.

man. that’s honestly never occurred to me, I love all my partners equally. but I can see why they’d think that if they weren’t educated on it.

"Why must marriage require sexual fidelity for life?" Because wrt relationships from which offspring can result that's the practice that provides the firm foundation of a functional society & humanity's spiritual advancement. Death of a spouse however, is a special circumstance.
