"Massage Woman to Stand on Street," the ad said. "$20,000 a month. Flushing, N.Y." Rachel called to ask what the job entailed. The answer: Everything. After her first day, Rachel said, "I got home and took a shower, and cried."https://nyti.ms/2PAFZ1O

I was wondering this as yell. It reads like a tone deaf Netflix original about just how awful & terrible these poor pitiful immigrants have & don't you feel sorry for them huh don't you feel sorry for them?!

I couldn't even finish it. I stopped at the overdramatization of her hitting the ground. Reducing minority women to a gawking spectacle for clicks. Again.

A sad, sad story, extremely well told. Kudos to @nytimes for making sure we remember the forgotten in our cities.

Maybe if the Police were not wasting the past 3 decades chasing marijuana, or choking people to death for selling a single cigarette, they would have stopped this sex trafficking bullshit

Now I realized why I stoped reading news. If I wanted to read a novel or science fiction I’d pick up a book, not a news paper.

Nah. This was overtold. It's written for an affluent white audience to gawk at the lives of immigrants and the poor. It's pretty terrible.

Terribly tragic. Song’s misery is over. Now do a story on one of the commenters and explain how s/he got to be so jaded and unsympathetic. Pick one and let’s find out if their story is one of tragedy resulting in their legitimate bitterness or if they were just born an asshole.
