Please stop trying to divide. The only people that benefit from this tax cut are the 1% and you know that! The rest of us are screwed. Always follow the money!

Nobody is trying to divide you. From this statement you actually didn’t read the article. The racial disparity isn’t caused by the 1% crap that you just claimed. You white moderates are quick to cry
#DONOTDIVIDEUS without Actually knowing the problem.

Better headline would've been, Study says Americans who have fucking jobs reap great benefits from Trump tax cuts.

You should've photoshopped your mom in that pic

Why's everyone trying to claim they're trying to divide us? They mentioned the problem's "a disparity that reflects longstanding racial economic inequality in the [US]". Plus, by pointing out the problem they're bringing attention to it, needed for solving it, not broadening it.
-
because people who have benefitted from a system designed to advance them and their ancestors hate to acknowledge historic trends they benefitted from bc they feel guilty.

I'm white. Where's my benefit? I haven't seen a penny.

Wow, how surprising. A tax cut tilted wildly towards the 1% would disproportionately help old white people. (The report presumably didn’t include “old,” but this is shit and I’m not going to click on it to find out)

Sure, let's just make everything a racial issue. That'll get us united!
-
It will, as by bringing attention to the issue, they introduce an opportunity for discussion, which can help solve the racial divide in the US. Only those who take it personally and lash out can flip this story on it's head and make it negative.
-
Pretty hard to resolve the "racial divide" when papers like the NYT fan the flames of racial division every single day on virtually every issue.
-
Because it creates discussion. Discussion is what leads to the problem. When butthurt racists hear this stuff, it increases tensions. The problem isnt
@nytimes , it's people who freak out about them for taking the steps to come to a solution. -
So, if those you malign as "butthurt racists" who "freak out," how would you expect to have a "discussion" and come to a "solution?" Your verbiage tells me you are not really interested in having a "discussion" or coming to a "solution" - just like the one-sided NYT.
-
I label them as such because that's what they are and what they do. The discussion only comes when both sides are ready for it. That means that neither side can be overly upset, lashing out. The discussion is only put off by the reactions of the people who read it.
