The confirmation of Brett Kavanaugh has set off a highly personal debate among women about credibility and culpability. Our reporters sat in on two of those conversations.https://nyti.ms/2CDh62k

You shouldn’t believe or blame anyone if their isn’t enough evidence or credible witnesses to prove it either way...you can’t make something true just by believing...you have to prove it!!

False accusations pale in comparison to the rate at which men feel entitled to exercise sexual dominance over other human beings of all ages, races, and genders. Educate yourself would you please? https://www.nsvrc.org/statistics

The rate of false reporting for sexual assault is in the range of 2-8%. Look it up!!

But that doesn't mean false accusations don't happen. The idea of "better an innocent man go to jail than ten rapists go free" hurts minorities and genuine sexual assaults don't get taken seriously. Liberals have to stop this hubris bullshit or we'll lose.

Logic on display: innocent killed by cops (0.0000004% more likely to be stuck by lighting twice) = OUTRAGE fake rape victim charges (2-8% taking it at your word) = Meh, so what Good luck w/that philosophy

If you add in all of the people who do not report out of fear or shame that false reporting great falls down to almost nothing. And incidentally… The current false reporting right is no different than the same rate of false reporting for all other felonies.

You do not combat that by falsely accusing people or removing due process. What you are suggesting is insane and equivalent to police being able to arrest all people on a street just because they think a criminal might reside in one of the houses. Bonkers logic!

Pretty simple. The ones who are actually abused are believed. The ones who get $1m to make up a story aren’t. Is this really that hard? Just because you want to believe something happened doesn’t mean it did.

Right. So your response to an unproven allegation is to make up a claim that you don't even pretend is true. I hope your three children enjoy the world you leave behind for them.

Why do American reporters never ask followup questions like the BBC? Bad reporting, Susan Chira/Ellen Fuentes! What is ‘getting too liberal? What does whatever was too liberal have to do with prosecuting sexual crimes? Green/Walls were vague and you let them be vague!
