Being frugal is important but you also have to enjoy life. My mom growing up cut coupons, never had a single credit card, and I can count on my hand how many times she spoiled herself. She got cancer 9 yrs ago and had to declare bankruptcy bc of med bills.

At what point to people stop budgeting? At what point to people stop questioning the lie? At what point do people look elsewhere for fulfilment? Objects and social status can't sustain happiness. We know the cost of everything and the value of nothing.

Hence, the move toward socialism. Idiots think the gvt should take care of them cradle to grave. Duh maybe if you got a different degree then women’s basket weaving!

It's sad that living within your means and being money smart has to become a 'thrift movement' for people to actually do something.

Oh. And Frack our ONLY Environment to oblivion in order to "sell cheap Natural Gas to Asia." You know, "kill" our TRILLION $ investment in ACA as it maneuvers to ENDANGER ALL OUR LIVES via Benzene & METHANE POLLUTION in our air, aquifers and bodies. Vote wisely in November.

THAT is the biggest difference between the EU and U.S. and arguably between the DNC and GOP. Namely, the GOP-led U.S. "doesn't want to provide any performance" on behalf of the Government to make our lives better. It wants to "divert OUR $" to Kurdish rebels instead.

Pity that our own Congress "refuses" to "abide by the express mandate of the Constitution" and actually RAISE REVENUE for the People's GENERAL WELFARE. You know, to actually provide for Health Care & Education so that we can SPEND AFTER-TAX DOLLARS on things driving us to debt.

Pssst. Make more money than you spend. My tip. No charge. Compared to a Socialist life, you know, where you work 12 hours a day for someone else and get to eat your pets, living the capitalistic live is heaven.

@theAliceRoberts Prof.Roberts book "Tamed" has a coda which points to our use of resources and which brought me up short. In particular, such innocent pleasures as chocolate and coffee are enjoyed by the wealthy (I mean US) at a huge cost to the rest of the world. Recommended!
