Nicolas Maduro, the president of Venezuela, where people are starving, had dinner at Salt Bae's steakhouse. Senator Marco Rubio was not pleased.https://nyti.ms/2Nk9lnK

Starving in the name of capitalism is totally cool, though.

If socialism were as advanced as capitalism it would outsource its poverty like the latter. U.S. capitalism has outsourced manufacturing to the southern hemisphere so that elite CEO's and their northern consumers don't have to see the squalor and degradation it and the NYT hide.

True, but the Venezuelan government is shitty & people are suffering much worse there. Venezuela is very impoverished.

People are forgotten by the government and impoverished in every nation and to act like those who are ignored in Venezuela are more important than those in America is stupid

It's not a competition on who is more impoverished, it's the fact that the Venezuelan economy is awful, and their government should be doing something to fix it. At least we have good social programs in the US.

What in the world does the homeless problem in the US have to do with how horrible socialism is. You don't think there's any homeless ppl in Venezuela that are dying I'm sure the homeless here have it better than in the people's republic of Venezuela. So what's your point!

There are very few homeless here in Venezuela. Millions of homes have been given to the poor. In Merida I've only seen a few. Most days I don't see any homeless.

Merida vale???. That's not Caracas the problem of homelessness is much worse in the big cities, just like any other part of the world Venezuela is no exception. The homes for the poor have been far from a success, and what good does it do if u give the poor homes but starve them.

Far from success? You call millions of homes far from success? Next to my place a whole neighborhood was built for the poor. Baseless assertions. I could say the US has a zombie problem and show you pictures, probably even find articles about it. We are not starving to death
