Result of education inflation: same job requires more education. These students will need to live with parents longer delaying marriage, homeownership and children = downturn in an economy driven by consumption.

Yup, this is what happens when you "require" college that is not always providing the value folks need to pay it off. Its turning into an ol' fashioned pyramid scheme.

Problem is that too many parents didn't tell their kids to attend the local university & live at home. I know a 25 yr old w/ over $100K in debt for a BA b/c she went to her dream school vs. the school that her family could afford. She's working 3 p/t jobs paying for that degree

Yes! They bought into the bank ads that give you the guilt trip of using your home equity to pay for your kid's 'dream school'. Geez! Now, I'll give you that some kids do need to live on campus, b/c they don't have a local university, but there are low cost options.

I concur. Its about value. I wish I knew more about business younger. We should really teach money starting in elementary school and business at middle school and keep that as a required course through the end of high school. Folks are too financially unsavvy.

My son was upset when he had to attend the local university & live at home. He had hoped to get away & be on his own. Last May he graduated w/ $5K in student debt. He's paying the loan off by December & happy that he doesn't have an anchor of debt around his neck.

This photo was taken 2 years ago today. Trump stood next to John Paulson—who made $20 billion from the financial crisis by betting against subprime mortgages. Today, the @GOP's policies stand by the beneficiaries of the crash, not those harmed by it. https://rantt.com/how-bankers-made-billions-from-the-2008-financial-crisis%e2%80%8a-%e2%80%8aand-how-they-could-do-it-again/ …
