"We have no way out" made me emotional. 40% percent of Americans can't afford a $400 emergency expense. In almost every part of our society, the poor are left behind. How many NC families had to come to grips with this reality?

It's true!! People hardly have enough food for the week, let alone money to buy supplies for the storm!!

There is always a way out if you want to go. 211. I live on Texas gulf coast, had Harvey last year. - people choose to stay which is very different than “I can’t go”. Neighbors help neighbors every time.

A $100,000 per person dinner and photo op for the rich. Families can't put gas in their car to get out of the path of a hurricane. We are broken.

How do they get groceries if they don’t have gas? This has been predicted for a week could they have not made plans?

That’s easy to say because you lack understanding and I’m sure the local churches and others are stretched thin. If you don’t have the money it isn’t going to just appear. And in America no one is coming to magically solve the problem
