For young sea turtles, ingesting just a little more than a dozen pieces of plastic in the ocean significantly increases their risk of deathhttps://nyti.ms/2N8YqNC

A shame that the only sea turtles left will be the ones that aren't prone to mistaking plastic for food. Wait...I think I solved it!

@AustraliaZoo has a special endoscope donated by #RussellCrowe to help save the turtles, but the real answer is to use less plastic. I’m trying to do what I can. If everyone does, things get better...

Like all humans, all turtles have an unincreasable, undecreasable, 100% risk of death. Just add the word "early" and our collective brain cells will not suffer a significantly increased risk of becoming completely incapable of integrating useful math/science into daily life.

Betsy I love your enthusiasm but could you throw a little bit more positive Words of encouragement for people that may not be As well Edjucated as yourself? I'm so sorry I just got a new phone but I really want you to be more positive with people. Love you

Thanks for the suggestion. While I do try to be positive generally, and to recognize that not everyone's been as lucky as I've been with education, that tweet was for the highly educated NYT writer who should know better than to use the all-too-common "increased risk of death".
