As Burundi faces accusations of murder, rape and torture, it has attacked the International Criminal Court as a politicized, unchecked intrusion. This week, that position got a powerful voice of support — from the Trump administration.https://nyti.ms/2Oe9mpM

This should surprise no one. @realDonaldTrump respects only dictators. He is trying to become one in this country by undermining our laws, institutions & free press. If he can get enough of the citizenry to trust nothing but his lies, he hopes that will result in #dictatorship.

Does this imply that Bolton thinks that the US is not bound by any human rights laws and that the US is exempt from international law? This is not a good msg. to send to Americans and to the world! We need to be better than this!

This evil #JohnBolton asshole has no place in humanity. He's a deadly poison to democracies in the free world. In fact, Bolton is a Nazi of the modern time. He's part of the group that is hell bent on bringing #fascism to the world.

This is why we need to stop Kavanaugh, because Trump with a 5/4 guarantee will begin to assume dictator-level power. Stop Kav now, stop Trump ASAP, let's make America America again, instead of pre-war Nazi Germany!

To be fair, America should be above the ICC.

It is not "fair" to withdraw from International organizations aiming to make the world a better place. Trump doesn't care for organizations because they will eventually turn against his pathological practices.

The point seems that our government representative is standing with the bad guys and against the ICC. We must not be above, or afraid to call out our representatives on such a stance.

Man in Zorro outfit, childish? The 1998 Rome conference created the ICC as a court of last resort to judge atrocities when national governments are unable or unwilling to do so. Perhaps that does not involve the USA, but I feel we should support their effort to curb atrocities.

Only countries under dictatorships and investigation are withdrawing support! Disgusting that the United States, like other dictatorships, have publicly challenged the #HagueCourt to prevent any possible criminal investigation associated with Afghanistan!! #JohnBolton

“This bombastic threat against an institution’s operation, no matter what the circumstances, only serves to cut our ties further with our allies,” said Patricia M. Wald, a retired American judge who served as a judge on a separate war crimes tribunal here."
