Pope Francis suggested during his morning Mass on Tuesday that the accusations against him and others in the Viganò letters were the devil's work: "He tries to uncover the sins, so they are visible in order to scandalize the people"https://nyti.ms/2N8wVEb

Francis - you need immediate, unprecedented, and decisive action to save yourself and the Catholic Church and to make this right. Time is quickly running out. I can only take your equivocation and slowness on the matter as culpability and a choice to not take responsibility.

That's one explanation. Another might be that God is exposing the sin so that it can be addressed, fully repented of, and healed. And part of the process of repentance and healing is accountability and JUSTICE for the victims.

As an atheist I have to say that your explanation is at least a bit more on the rational side of things.

It sounds like something Trump would say--a combination of two fallacies: straw man and ad hominem. The REALITY is that the Vatican has been committing CRIMES AGAINST HUMANITY for over 2,000 years.

Remember that SOUTH PARK episode where the town priest went to the Vatican and was horrified to find all the Cardinals & the Pope thought that the child abuse crisis was that people had found out about it? Well, this time SOUTH PARK predicted the future instead of THE SIMPSONS.

Uh. Did the Pope protect pedophiles? If so, good bye Pope. And is he saying that exposing this is the work of the devil? That's like saying convicting the murderous is the work of the devil. I hope he isn't saying that.

Yes. He is saying that. And in doing so he is shifting blame therefore protecting pedophiles. So yes yes and yes

The Catholic Church is one of the most evil institutions, historically, on this planet. They have murdered millions in their quest to own God. Just remember kids, even the bible says 'beware of false prophets and wolves in sheep's clothing'. #GodIsWatching

Alternatively rather than a made up guy with horns it was a bunch of horney twisted old men who finally break after denying themselves what they naturally want. When we deny parts of our authentic wants/needs like sexual relationships it will manifest in a painful way.

Taking a page at a Trump's book are we when all else fails blame your enemy for the problem. The church is nothing but filled with dirty child pedophiles and anybody who still goes to that church supports them. To all you right wing Christians, you are pizzagate! End this church
