"It’s easy to forget now because it happened 2 very long weeks ago, but Serena Williams arrived at the 2018 United States Open already wronged," writes our critic @Wesley_Morrishttps://nyti.ms/2CFhZIw

Basically S.Williams is a nasty piece of work and plays the sexism card to prevent people vocalising that fact

It was NOT an outburst dammit! She was fairly calm and standing up for herself after being called out on something they don't call out other players for. Many ppl have abused their racket, but not for a point penalty then a game penalty? NOT an OUTBURST. THIS IS AN OUTBURST!!!

Many players smash their rackets and don't get a point penalty because they aren't already on a firsy violation which she was. They only get a warning because it's their first violation. Just FYI.

Can we stop excusing Serena's behavior please, she was in the wrong and lost her temper, it happens all the time in sports, end of story.

Her fall? Please. She's a competitor. She wants to win, and she fights for it. How many men over the last 3 or 4 decades have done exactly what she did and never received a point deduction, much less an entire game deduction? She's sick of the double standard & I don't blame her.

Do you remember the discussions on Andre Agassis outfits? Should he be allowed to wear pink underpants or not 🤷‍♂️? Tennis is still a conservative sport. Like it or not.

What a terrible article. Enough with the racism and sexism excuses. SW has an entitled attitude of a petulant child who doesn’t like being told no. Let’s just call out poor sportsmanship for what it is and move on.
