In Opinion 5 high schoolers write, "We believe informing the public about the history of people with disabilities is necessary. We also believe that a major step in doing that means having a national museum dedicated to disability history."https://nyti.ms/2NWZdh3

How about teaching high school students about world history? Most Americans don't know the least thing about the world beyond Murrca.

But none in say, Virginia or Mississippi or Texas...or Washington or New York or Maryland.. Cincinnati isn't exactly the tourist goldmine of the U.S. it's almost as if it's purposely out in the middle of nowhere for a reason don't you think ?

LOL - I have no idea why it’s located in Cincinnati. Makes no difference to me where it is. Correct - Cincinnati is not a Mecca of tourism. 😊

It should include Franklin Roosevelt's wheelchair and leg braces.

How about universal healthcare first, then a museum.

In a country where nearly 50% of people don't know what tax bracket they are in, yes its key that people learn what people used instead of wheelchairs hundreds of years ago #Priorities

https://www.uakron.edu/chp/  This national museum informs the public about mental illness, history of psychology and human behavior. Much can be learned from history of disability. @CCHP_UA

In addition to my comment regarding a National Museum of Disability, dare I suggest a National Museum of Poverty. Both of these subjects reveal a great deal about us as a nation and us as a species. Let these ideas expand and come to fruition.
